Ordering a portrait

 
Here is the process of getting your portrait created from start to finish:

Step1:
First things first - email or call letting me know the style, size etc, that you would like your portrait to be. You can email or send a photo so I can check that I´ll be able to work from it. I will get back to you straight away with a no obligation quote

Step2:
You email me to let me know that you´d like to go ahead with the portrait and send me your photo (If you haven´t already). You can also let me know if you have any special requirements or ideas for the portrait. You then make a deposit payment for 50% to confirm the order. This is really to confirm that you are serious about the portrait commission.

Step3:
I will get started on the portrait. The length of time it will take to complete depends on the style you´ve chosen: a digital print will usually take two to three weeks to complete. I will let you know how long I expect it to take before starting. Once the portrait is nearly completed I will send a copy so you can check that you are satisfied with everything. I can send several versions of the portrait in a different colour scheme.

Step4:
If you are happy with everything then you make the remaining payment. Digital portraits are then printed on archival photographic paper or onto canvas and stapled over a chunky stretcher. The portrait is then framed (if you´ve chosen that option) and packaged up safely and securely. The portrait is despatched by Parcel Force 24hr Delivery - i´ll send an email to let you know when to expect delivery.

Choosing the right photo

I can work from digital or traditional film photos - the main thing to bear in mind is the better the quality of your photo you send the better the portrait will be. The most important thing is that the photo is in focus and shows plenty of detail.

   Detailed and clearly lit - this is perfect for the graphic    illustration style

   The eyes are a good tester for a suitable photo - if you    can see clearly the colour of the eyes and details of the    eyelashes then the photo should work very well
